On indefinite BV-integrals
In 1986 Bruckner, Fleissner and Foran [2] obtained a descriptive definition of a minimal extension of the Lebesgue integral which integrates the derivative of any differentiable function. Recently, Bongiorno, Di Piazza and Preiss [1] showed that this minimal integral can be obtained from McShane’s definition of the Lebesgue integral [4] by imposing a mild regularity condition on McShane’s parti...
متن کاملA Semi Derivation Lemma on Bv Functions
This paper presents a proof of a derivation lemma on the space of BV functions. The origin of this question can be found in the context of the image matching in the framework of large deformation diffeomorphisms. To compute the geodesic equations on the space of diffeomorphisms, one needs this result, which also gives the structure of the initial momentum, i.e. the central tool in the Hamiltoni...
متن کاملOn L-lower semicontinuity in BV
and of the corresponding extension (1.3) to BV (Ω), with the aim of understanding which are the minimal assumptions on f that guarantee lower semicontinuity. Here, the starting point is the result, proved in [20], stating that if the integrand f(x, u, ξ) is a nonnegative, continuous function from Ω× IR× IR , convex in ξ, and such that the (classical) derivatives ∇xf,∇ξf,∇x∇ξf exist and are cont...
متن کاملOn the Complexity of BV-tree Updates
In [Fre95b] we discussed the use of multi-dimensional index methods in constraint databases. In [Fre95a] we showed how to overcome a fundamental problem which has afflicted all multi-dimensional indexing techniques based on the recursive partitioning of a dataspace: how to build the partition hierarchy so that the location of each object in the hierarchy is specified unambiguously (i.e. each ob...
متن کاملON SELBERG-TYPE SQUARE MATRICES INTEGRALS
In this paper we consider Selberg-type square matrices integrals with focus on Kummer-beta types I & II integrals. For generality of the results for real normed division algebras, the generalized matrix variate Kummer-beta types I & II are defined under the abstract algebra. Then Selberg-type integrals are calculated under orthogonal transformations.
